Abstract

In this study, Lagrangian numerical method and free-mesh smoothed particle hydrodynamics were used to simulate solitary wave in the porous media. Equations governing the wave flows were also solved using SPH discrete method with two-step fractional algorithm. A computer code was developed in order to simulate solitary wave on porous media (soil) with smoothed particle hydrodynamics method. For this purpose, flow equations in porous media and boundary conditions between the interaction of the two porous and non-porous media were also implemented. In order to validate the numerical model, numerical results were compared with analytical solution by simulating a solitary wave using mean percentage of relative error criterion. Moreover, results from simulation of solitary wave on a porous media showed acceptable accuracy of the numerical model with mean percentage of relative error of 3.54% for numerical modeling results versus the theoretical results.
